Looking forward to a great weekend ahead with plenty of shows for you to check out. On Friday, the 91X Holiday Bonus show featuring Fitz & the Tantrums, the Airborne Toxic Event, Chvrches and the Royal Concept is taking over Valley View Casino Center. Other live shows include the Soft Lions EP release at Soda Bar, with Spaceships and Idyll Wild; the Palace Ballroom, State to State, Manuok and the Gods of Science at the Griffin, Hip-Hop vs. Punk Rock at the Tower Bar; Black Joe Lewis at House of Blues; Pharmacy, Hocus, Social Spit, and Courage You Bastards at the Shakedown Bar; and Cadillac Tramps, Creepy Creeps, Hard Fall Hearts and the nFormals at the Casbah.

Kick off your Saturday with the Vinyl Junkies Record Swap at the Casbah from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.. DJs spinning throughout the day include David J (Bauhaus, Love and Rockets), Mike Halloran (91x), Mike Delgado (Moving Units/Shark Attack), Matt Molarius (Transfer) and Craig Oliver (Volar Records). Later that night, it’s Club Ascension at the Kava Lounge. Lady Noir and Severin will join me in the DJ booth as we spin the best in dark underground dance music. Plus, Skinny Puppy ticket giveaways for their show at House of Blues in January, and vending by Grave Merchants. You can grab more info here.  Elsewhere, Anna Lunoe hits Bang Bang, and Boys & Girls features Kid Wonder and Adam Salter at El Dorado. On the live music tip, the rescheduled 91x Next Big Thing show with Ms Mr and Island Boy is at Soda Bar. A limited number of tickets for 91 cents will be available at the door that night. Plus, Fu Manchu, Moab and Lord Howler play at the Casbah.

Sunday features the 91x  Wrex the Halls show at Valley View Casino Center, with Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, Alt-J, the Silent Comedy and J. Roddy Walston & the Business. If you don’t have tickets to the sold-out event or tickets for X and the Blasters at the Belly Up, which is also sold out, may I suggest Bar Pink’s 14th annual Holiday Prom “Enchantment Under the Sea” canned food drive and fundraiser for Mama’s Kitchen.
Have a great weekend and I’ll see you on the dance floor, and in the pit!
