Jason Mraz Available Again

Grammy winner Jason Mraz is no longer engaged.

When Mraz and then-fiancee Tristan Prettyman announced their engagement in December, the crooner vowed to hold off on the wedding bells until same-sex marriage is recognized in America.

The 33-year-old San Diego musician proposed to 28-year-old Prettyman -- another bright star in San Diego's musical landscape -- and soon after excitedly Tweeted to his fans, "SHE SAID YES."

Unfortunately, their upgraded status didn't last the year.

E! Online reports Mraz and Prettyman, long considered an "on and off couple," decided to break off the engagement.

When asked why, Mraz told The Daily Beast it was an either-or situation. Either the girl of his dreams or his music.

"In my relationship, I was giving myself away to make the relationship better, but in actuality, I wasn't doing better by doing that. I became less of a man," he added.

Mraz said the two are still "super friends" and still hang out, going to the movies and surfing together.
