Archery for the Blind won the Garage to Glory IV contest on Monday.
DJ Robin Roth, who's hosting SoundDiego LIVE XVI on Dec. 1 at Bootlegger in San Diego's East Village, handpicked the artists in this month's digital battle of the bands, Garage to Glory IV.
This month fans had to choose between Archery for the Blind, East of Sweden and the Mosaic Quartet. When voting wrapped up on Monday, Archery for the Blind was the clear front-runner. Here's why Roth selected them for Garage to Glory:
"Mike Gross, bassist for Archery for the Blind, is all over the place when it comes to local shows," Roth told us. "That's the one thing I think is really important for musicians: getting out and seeing other bands play, and going to as many shows as you can. Also, getting to know the people who put these shows on. Mike and I have been talking about doing an event together for awhile now, and it's never worked out. This seemed like the right time."
Be sure to join Archery for the Blind on Thursday at this month's hit-and-run bash at Bootlegger -- with free food and free Mission Brewery craft brews -- during a happy hour kicking off at 7 p.m.
As the winners of Garage to Glory IV, Archery for the Blind will likely featured in SoundDiego LIVE coverage in multiple NBC 7 San Diego newscasts and showcased in online video and photo coverage on both SoundDiego and NBCSanDiego, as well as on our social media platforms. Twenty-four hours after SoundDiego LIVE on Dec. 1, it's possible that more than 100,000 music fans will know Archery for the Blind's name and music. They'll be in good company, sharing the SoundDiego LIVE bill with local rockers Grand Tarantula and the 2011 San Diego Music Award winner for Best New Artist, Low Volts.
