    Robin Roth's weekend picks includes getting dad to loosen up his tie to jam out with They Might Be Giants at the Belly Up.

    As we celebrate dads everywhere this weekend, make sure to take in some live music or get your dance on in San Diego.

    Lots of great live music on Friday. Switchfoot is playing at the San Diego County Fair, The English Beat with Unsteady is happening at the Belly Up. The Whistle Stop and Pussy Galore bring you Mrs. Henry and Chess Wars with DJs Terryn S and yours truly. The Greyboy Allstars head to the Casbah for the first of a two night stand on their Inland Emperor Tour. Plus, ‘80s legends Bow Wow Wow and Gene Loves Jezebel play at Brick by Brick.

     The 4th annual Oysterfest hits the Embarcadero Park North this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It’s all about bands, DJs, beer and of course, oysters. Mayer Hawthorne headlines, plus performances from Poolside, Blood Diamonds, Tyrone Wells, Family Wagon and more. Get more info via this link. Another event happening Saturday is the benefit Parkerpalooza at Sycuan Casino from 12-5 p.m. C Money & the Players (members of Slightly Stoopid), Sprung Monkey and Perro Bravo will be performing. It's a benefit for Parker Shaw, a 6-year-old boy recently diagnosed with childhood cancer called stage 4 neuroblastoma. Go here to purchase your tickets. Saturday is also night two of the English Beat with Amalgamated at the Belly Up and night two of the Greyboy Allstars at the Casbah. Plus, Maystar’s last Diamond Dust party at The Flame, Dead//Technology at the Kava Lounge, Boys & Girls at El Dorado and Zomboy headlines at House of Blues.

    Get your Sunday funday pool party on with 91X at the Lafayette Hotel from 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Local band Tribal Theory will be playing live and you can get more info here. Elsewhere, Nicky Romero headlines Intervention at the Hard Rock Hotel and They Might Be Giants play at the Belly Up.
