Bush Frontman to Play Free SD Show

A one-pound nonperishable food donation gets you into FM 94/9's free show by the Bush frontman

The holidays are pretty OK. Sure, sometimes they bring out the aggressive drivers, the pushy shoppers, the Chrismas sweaters, but they also bring on the warm and fuzzies and the gooey, do-goody goodness of altruistic intent. Where music is concerned, that means FM 94/9's Cans 4 Bush, a.k.a. Gavin Rossdale of Bush, playing an unplugged set for the mere price of one pound.

We're not waxing British on you -- bring at least one pound of nonperishable foods (hell, throw in an extra pound, why don't you), which will be donated to the San Diego Food Bank, to gain entrance to the Lafayette Hotel in North Park on Thursday, Dec. 11, when Rossdale takes the FM 94/9-sponsored stage to play an acoustic set.

It's all part of FM 94/9’s Can Diego food drive. No matter what you bring, get there early -- doors are at 6 p.m. and admission is limited to capacity. For details on the initiative and other ways to donate, visit the radio station’s events page.

Hannah Lott-Schwartz, a San Diego native, moved back to the area after working the magazine-publishing scene in Boston. Now she’s straight trolling SD for all the music she missed while away.
