In addition to music, the summer kickoff festival includes arts & crafts, creative vendors, international food court, and beer & wine. Produced by the Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce, Green Chamber of San Diego, and the Belly Up Tavern, admission into the Fiesta Del Sol is free. Whether you are an attendee of many years or not, it's the consummate outdoor San Diego gathering.
Here's a deeper look at who's playing (as of now):
The Aggrolites are a Los Angeles “dirty reggae” band. An amalgam of reggae, soul and grit-hop, the Aggrolites "rally the kids, the parents, the students, the cops, the bosses and the drifters." Their liberating music and grooves demand definite attention.
The King of the Surf Guitar, Dick Dale (72) invented surf music in the 1950s. A cancer survivor and healthy living champion, Dale's live performances are a huge local draw and will send you on a trip through surf culture of the '60s and '70s.
Candye Kane, Hoi Polloi, Atomic Groove and Sol E Mar.
