Originally called Huang Chung -- "yellow bell" in Chinese -- the UK-based New Wave group Wang Chung stops at Anthology on Thursday ight with a handful of hits from the mid-'80s and a new single,"Rent Free," from the double E.P. Abducted by the '80s.
The band, consisting of original members Jack Hues (vocalist/guitarist) and bassist Nick Feldman, reunited in 2005 on the reality TV show, Hit Me Baby One More Time, performing "Everybody Have Fun Tonight."
A bigger fan of "Dance Hall Days" -- when I think of Wang Chung's quintessential 1986 hit,"Everybody Have Fun Tonight," I immediately recall the classic scene in Cheers when Frasier recites the iconic lyrics in honor of his bachelor party. Hues recently told David Moye of SDGLN.com: “I was impressed when I heard Homer Simpson say it because of the cultural significance, but my children were more impressed when Frasier Crane said it.”
Wang Chung performs at Anthology on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
