SoundDiego is pleased to welcome the host of The Local 94/9 on FM 94/9 as its newest blogger. At the start of every month, Tim Pyles will hit on the upcoming month's highlights and help you plan out which mornings you'll need to sleep late.-- Ed.

Hello, I'm the latest addition to the SoundDiego family.

I host The Local 94/9 on FM 94/9 and do some booking at the world famous Casbah, among other things. Some people think I live at the Casbah, but this is not true, I do get around town, though. My friend once said I was the man-about-town, but these days that title goes to Rosey Bystrak of sdDialedIn.com and this site, too! She is the woman-about-town!

So I could tell you that Anti-Monday League is an event at the Casbah I host and sometimes book; looking at November, we have some great shows: On Nov. 7, we have UK act Purple Melon; influenced by Brit rock. They will rock you. Opening the show are locals Kevin Martin and the Beautiful View. On Nov. 14, we'll feature High on Fire, a band that will shake the rafters and surely wake the people that live above the Casbah. High on Fire are metal, in simple terms. We're ending the month with a free show -- featuring local punk and rock bands -- on Nov. 28, with Authentic Sellout, F.O.A and Rattlesnake Aces.

Besides my Mondays at the Casbah, I do get around town, and I'm excited about quite a few things this month. Top of the list is the San Diego Brewers Guild Fest with Matthew Sweet, Telekinesis and Stone Foxes on the FM94/9 Anniversary Stage, plus the Bloody Hollies, Dead Feather Moon and Family Wagon on The Local 94/9 Stage. It all goes down Saturday, Nov. 5, in Ingram Park at Liberty Station.

The America's Cup is returning to San Diego, -- well, sort of. It's a preliminary round, but who cares?, 'cause they're putting on some concerts. The races run from Nov. 12-20, but the final weekend, there will be shows every night. Let's run down what's confirmed so far: Diplo, the Chain Gang of 1974, Hyena, K. Flay, Little Hurricane, the Donkeys and the Silent Comedy, with more to be announced. Check the America's Cup web site for the most up-to-date info.

Sezio, a local nonprofit art and music collective, has curated another amazing Four Day Weekend event, this time at the Sunset Temple, which is part of the Claire De Lune empire in North Park. The party kicks of Nov. 10 and runs through the following Sunday. The bands performing are national touring bands and top-notch locals, including Chairs Missing, Birds & Batteries, Peter Wolf Crier, Rafter, Oregon Bike Trails, Dirty Gold, So Many Wizards, Writer, Lord Huron, Little Deadman, Big Troubles and finally, Real Estate. Tickets are $10 per day or $30 for a Four Day Weekend pass to all the shows.

Last, but not least, I have been hosting monthly events at Maryjane's Cafe, which is located inside the Hard Rock Hotel. The next one is Nov. 17 and will feature the Beautiful View. They show runs from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m., is free and our hosts will be offering cheap adult beverages -- say no more....

That's a lot of stuff, plus there's more around every corner. Now get out and see some shows!
