Dancefloor Shenanigans

A busy and fun-filled weekend is upon us.  Between Pride Festival, the after-parties and all the other events going on there will be plenty to do in San Diego.  Start the fun off early Thursday night at Voyeur with DJ Craze.  When it comes to world-class turntablism skills, this 5x DMC World Champion reigns supreme.  My head spins whenever I watch this video of him doing what he does best.  Pretty freakin’ amazing!!!  If you’ve never seen him do his magic live, don’t miss out on this opportunity.  Flinch will be opening the night.  For more info, check out details here.  Lovers of Steampunk – Chrononaut is off to explore the legendary wilds of Ocean Beach, where no steampunk has dare tread before.  They have commissioned legendary explorers The Eben Brooks Band to find them safe harbor at Electric Ladyland Studios and The Slow Poisoner to use his secrets of the voodoo spirits to ensure swift passage.  The journey begins promptly at 7pm. For more info about this all ages event Thursday, go here.

On Friday, join me for a full-moon night of dancing at Til-Two, where Audio Kick presents live performances from The Crystelles (featuring Gitane Demone of Christian Death) and Human Toys from France.  Plus, I’ll be DJing electro, indie, ‘80s and more with my friend Heather Hardcore throughout the evening.  For more info, check out this link.  At U-31 Blatta and Inesha from Italy will invade Feel The Noise.  Its part of their North American Tour and you can check out some fun mixes on the duos Soundcloud page.  Resident DJ Gabe Vega and Kedd Cook from Costa Mesa open the night.  Get more details here.

Saturday there are several events going on that will not disappoint including a Pride Afterparty with DJs Von Kiss, Havok and L at U-31.  Mark Farina and Doc Martin will be at Spin and Voyeur will host Lazy Rich.  Personally I’ll be working up a sweat at X-Fest all day and night.  Talk about a party!

These are just a few of my favorite things.  Check out the Robin blog for even more weekend shenanigans.  Have fun and I’ll see you on the dance floor or in the mosh pit!
