Low Volts is the one-man project from Tim Lowman of Blackout Party.
Hopefully by now you’re back in the swing of things after Thanksgiving weekend, because December is finally here. Life is moving full-speed ahead, with plenty to keep us busy. Between the stress of holiday shopping and trying to balance everything else, we’ll need to blow off some steam.
Thursday night, I’ll be starting things off by hosting SoundDiego LIVE at Bootlegger downtown. The event features live performances from Grand Tarantula, Low Volts and the Garage to Glory winner Archery for the Blind. GET ON THE GUEST LIST HERE.Then it’s onto at least one of these: Italian Japanese, Keith Sweaty (Jamuel Saxon solo set live) and DJ Groundfloor at El Dorado; Zedd and No Body at Voyeur; or EDM with Donald Glaude at Fluxx.
Are you ready for a holiday fetish smackdown on Friday night? If that didn’t get your attention, maybe the words leather and latex will: Seasons Beatings is just what the doctor ordered. The event is happening at Brick By Brick and features yours truly spinning all kinds of dark underground dance music. Plenty of eye candy awaits you with a fetish fashion show, live performances from Sabrina Fox, Chain Goddess Brandy, plus a spanking booth and so much more. This party wouldn’t be complete without toys for the naughty. The nice should probably stay away. Details via this link. My other picks include Mat Zo, Pierce Fulton and Victor Dinaire at Voyeur. Also, Feel the Noise presents Into The AM with Dirtyrock, Liberty and Gabe Vega at U-31.
Saturday I’m hosting and DJing for Club Ascension at the Kava Lounge. Tom King and Dementia will also be spinning everything from darkwave to industrial to synth pop. Plus, Kelly Formaldehyde is selling her handmade accessories, so bring some cash and buy yourself or someone you love a holiday gift. Info about the night is here. At Voyeur it’s an 18-plus show, with Boys Noize, Phonat and Deth Hertz. No alcohol will be served at this event, even for those over 21. If that’s what you're looking for, then consider going to the second Boys Noize show at 4th & B. It also features Harvard Bass, Two Door Cinema Club (DJ set), TJR and Deth Hertz. This party goes till 4 a.m. You can get more details here.
For other Thursday through Saturday events, check out my blog. Here’s to another fun weekend in San Diego, and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
