Time is flying by and this month is almost over. Pack in as much fun as you can this weekend -- there’s so much going on.
I’ll be kicking off my Thursday night hosting the festivities at the Casbah for SoundDiego Live XIV. Happy Hour is from 7-8 p.m., with free food and drinks, plus catch live performances from Dead Feather Moon, the Get Down Automatic and the winner of the Garage to Glory II contest: the Green Almighty. Secure your spot by going here and join in on the birthday celebration for Corey from Gaglione Brothers, blogger Gwendolyn Jackson of SanDiegoRiddimVibez; the man behind the scenes at SoundDiego, Sean Monzet; and Rosemary Bystrak of SDDialedIn. Wow! What a party that’s going to be. Later that night, there is so much to choose from, including EDM with British DJ duo EC Twins headlining the night at Fluxx. At Voyeur, it’s Classixx; you can get in for free before 10:30 pm.; guest list here.
Friday after I host the shenanigans with 91X at the Haunted Hotel from 7-9 p.m., I’ll be heading over to 4th & B for the Blue September Grand Finale Concert. Four tribute bands will be playing: Space Oddity (David Bowie), the Joshua Tree (U2), Murmur (R.E.M.) and Still Ill (the Smiths and Morrissey). Plus, there will be a raffle and silent auction with all proceeds going to the Blue September campaign for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Other things to look forward to include Gosteffects (NYC) and DJ Gabe Vega at U-31, plus Robbie Rivera and Tara Brooks at Voyeur.
Saturday, join me for Club Ascension at the Kava Lounge. Tom King and I will be hosting and DJing the best in dark underground dance music throughout the night, along with special guests Ladynoir and ChadO. Plus, it’s your chance to win tickets to see VNV Nation and Straftanz at HOB on Nov. 19. Go here for more info. Also on Saturday: Alex Metric and Deth Hertz at Voyeur. And props to Voyeur for having a kick-ass lineup three nights in a row.
On Sunday night, Tiesto’s Club Life College Invasion Tour hits the Valley View Casino Center. I still think of it as the Sports Arena, and I know a lot of you do as well. Porter Robinson will be opening this dance party, so get there early. More info and tickets here.
Get details about other weekend events via my blog. That’s also where you can go to check out where I’ll be next. See you on the dance floor!
