Los Lobos Headline SD Blues Fest

The San Diego Blues Festival helps to end hunger

Grammy Award-winning blues acts, raising money for charity and a VIP party -- does it get any better? The AimLoan.com San Diego Blues Festival is back on Saturday, Sept. 10 from noon to 8 p.m. at Embarcadero Marina Park North! The festival will feature Grammy Award-winning Los Lobos in addition to Nikki Hill, Bobby Rush and more. Thanks to the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, proceeds from the festival will help support the battle against hunger.

Festival headliner Los Lobos have not only won four Grammy Awards, but last year they were also nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. To add to the festivalโ€™s prestige, performer Bobby Rush has been nominated for two Grammys and in 2006 he was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame.

The San Diego Blues Festival doesnโ€™t end with that star-studded lineup, either. This year, the VIP party on Friday, Sept. 9 will be open to the public, and it will feature a special performance by Watermelon Slim at 6 p.m. Get tickets for the intimate House of Blues performance quick!

Remember: the festival comes with even more perks. Since the festival was founded in 2011, sponsors and festival goers have helped contribute over $435,000 and 20 tons of food. These contributions have helped the food bank feed almost 400,000 people a month in San Diego County, and last year, this amounted to 22 million pounds of food.

What better way to spend the weekend than supporting blues music and ending hunger one great performance at a time?
