Alpha Rev's into San Diego

Recently named VH1's You Outta Know artist, Alpha Rev of Austin, Texas, was formed in 2005 by Casey McPherson, formally of the band Endochine

Having toured with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Staind and Pete Yorn (with Endochine), McPherson is taking a more organic, grass-roots approach with Alpha Rev, releasing their debut, The Greatest Thing I've Ever Learned, locally. In 2007, the band was the No. 1 ranked indie band from Texas on MySpace, and by 2008, Austin Monthly Magazine named Alpha Ray one of the bands most likely to succeed in the Live Music Capital of the World. Alpha Rev signed with Hollywood Records that same year.

Known for their passionate live performance, the band will be performing on Thursday at Anthology with One EskimO. Alpha Rev's major label debut, New Morning, was recorded at Avatar Studios in NYC with producer/record exec David Kahne (Paul McCartney, Fishbone, Sublime and the Strokes). The first single and title track, "New Morning," has found a home on the Billboard charts, VH1's Top 20 Video Countdown and local radio station KPRi/102.1's playlist.
