A Ghost B.C. Story

91x's Robin Roth picks all the must-see shows you just need to be at this weekend, including Ghost at House of Blues.

On Friday, one of my favorite local bands, Ilya, and Identical Homes (ex-Rum Diary, San Francisco) play at the Hideout. I’ll be DJing before and in between sets. Get more info here. Thee Silver Mt Zion Memorial Orchestra headline at the Casbah; the Aggrolites play at the Belly Up; the Widows, Grand Tarantula and Atom Age take over the Whistle Stop; Neighbors to the North, Chinese Rocks and Gloomsday hit the Tin Can; Badabing headline at the Tower; Night Beats, Cosmonauts, Shiva Trash and Wild Wild Wets DJs are at Soda Bar; and the Hell on Heels Burlesque Show with Action Andy & the Hi-Tones and Celeste Barbier take over the Shakedown. Plus, get your dance on with Organized Grime 100% Drum & Bass at Spin and Bonkers at Bar Pink.

Adams Avenue Unplugged is Saturday and Sunday, with more than 140 performances on 25 stages along Adams Avenue. Saturday night, Club Sabbat takes over the front room of Numb3rs. I’ll be DJing with Severin; get more info here. Crowdkillers + M. Brando are at Bang Bang; Tritonal + Paris Blohm hit Bassmnt; Booty Bassment takes over the Whistle Stop; and Life in Color: World’s Largest Paint Party hits Valley View Casino Center. On the live-music tip that night, the Swedish heavy-metal band Ghost with King Dude take over House of Blues; the Dillinger Escape Plan, Trash Talk, Retox and Shining hit Porter’s Pub; Chinchilla, the Rosalyns and Cryptobebelem play at the Casbah; Technicolor Hearts, Soft Lions, the Low and Emerald Rats play at the Che Cafe; and River City, Black Sands and the Peripherals are at the Tin Can.

After you swing by EarthFair in Balboa Park or Artwalk in Little Italy on Sunday, there are a few options to check out. It's the opening day of Intervention at the Hard Rock Hotel with Thomas Gold; and the Sunday Round Up at the Shakedown features Two Wolves, Shake Before Us and Octagrape. Plus, DJ sets by Brian Karscig (LouisXIV), Mr. Mazee (the Casbah) and Pstar. Later that night, Reignwolf headline a sold-out show at the Casbah; Augustana and Twin Forks are at SOMA; Jim Jones Revue, The Freeks and Javier Escovedo are at Soda Bar; and The Dark Side at U31 has live music from Just Like Jenna, Blaise Guld, Brothers Grim, Gravy Brothers plus DJ Mike Delgado.

And just a head's up for Monday: David J (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets) & The Gentlemen Thieves, Sky Parade and The Midnight Pine are at Soda Bar.

Have a great weekend, and I'll see you on the dance floor!
