Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots fame headlines a Belly Up show with his new band, the Wildabouts

On Saturday, get your fried food on during opening day of the San Diego County Fair; Art Around Adams takes over Normal Heights and Kensington from 2-10 p.m. The free 2-mile art and music walk features over nine stages, with more than 50 musical acts, including the Schitzophonics, Gone Baby Gone, Super Buffet, the Baja Bugs, the Peripherals, Neighbors to the North and Marie Haddad. In addition, the Vinyl Junkies Record Swap takes over the Casbah from 11 a.m. till 5 p.m.; and Dive Day Club at Harrah’s features Dirty South. Later that night, join Club Ascension at the Kava Lounge. DJs Lady Noir and Doktor Zayus will join me in spinning the best in dark underground dance music. Plus, there will be Peter Murphy ticket giveaways for his show on July 2 at the Belly Up. On the live-music tip, San Diego’s Little Hurricane headline at House of Blues in support of their second album, Gold Fever. Ed Ghost Tucker and Lincoln Durham round out the lineup. Wanda Jackson, Shawn Rolf & the 7th Day Buskers play at the CasbahSunset Sessions Rock! continues at the Belly Up, with 91x presenting Scott Weiland & the Waldabouts, Heartist, Welshly Arms, MegaFauna, the Young Presidents, Hero the Band, and DJ Muggs between sets; Okapi Sun will be at Bar Pink with Beautiful Machines (SF); and Painted Palms, Soft Lions and Mike Sempert play at Soda Bar.

On Sunday, Intervention at the Hard Rock Hotel features Ferry Corsten, and Madeon takes over Bassmnt.
