There’s never a shortage of DJ and live music events in San Diego, but over the next few days, so much going on.
On Friday night, the Oceanside Museum of Art presents another Art After Dark event, Ecotopia. Grab more info via this link. Also on this night, Midge Ure of Ultravox fame performs at Brick By Brick. At the Casbah it’s Dead Feather Moon, the Blackout Party and the Beautiful View. The Heavy Guilt, the Steelwells and Boy King play at Winstons. At Soda Bar, Cuckoo Chaos headlines with Incan Abraham and Snuffaluffagus. The Casbah presents Quicksand at House of Blues and Ozomatli hits the Belly Up for the first of a two-night stand. If you’re looking for some fun dance spots, the Propagandist has an LCD Soundsystem vs. Soulwax Tribute night. Plus, Voyeur presents Starkillers, and you can get in free before 10:30 p.m. with your RSVP.
Saturday is Club Sabbat at Numbers in Hillcrest. I’ll be hosting this fourth-Saturday event as DJs Atom and Diskdroid spin the best in gothic and Industrial. Get more details here. Voyeur features one of my favorite female DJs, Audrey Napoleon. Get on the no-cover-before-10:30 p.m. list via this link. For live-music goodness, head to the Griffin as the Donkeys headline with support from Palace Ballroom and Social Studies. Also on Saturday, Gone Baby Gone, Schitzophonics, the Short Eyes and the Love Lashes play at Bar Pink. It’s also the birthday of Dizzy from Gone Baby Gone, so come out and celebrate with her.
