The statistic of the day comes courtesy of a Sacramento Bee story on how many California's classrooms are expected to have more children in them because of state budget cuts.

Although the state has legal limits on class sizes, the state school board is being deluged with requests from school districts seeking waivers from the class-size limits. The number of limits is accelerating, the Bee says. The state board "gave out 16 exemptions in an 11-month period ending in July. Since then, the board heard 16 more waiver requests at its board meeting Aug. 2 and expects another 16 in September."

If you're lucky enough to be able spend time with your kids before they head back to school, you might teach them some wrestling moves. They may need them to help them find a classroom seat.
