Opinion: State GOP “Seeks Inspiration” From Convention

NBC4’s Conan Nolan talks with Thomas Del Beccaro, the California Republican Party chairman

They may be the largest delegation, but they’re the national GOP’s biggest disappointment as they search for a way to win at home.

The California Republican Party has sent 169 delegates to the Republican National Convention, set to take place next week in Tampa.

The California GOP has no statewide office and not even a close majority in the California legislature.

NBC4’s Conan Nolan talks with Thomas del Beccaro, the chairman of the California Republican Party about what the party hopes to achieve at the convention.

“We’re looking for inspiration,” Beccaro said. “Republicans are going to talk to the country about what’s needed to get us back to work.”
