Californians “Unlike” Arnold: Poll

There’s nothing like a secret love child to send a politician’s poll ranking into the tank.

A Field Poll released Friday show former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's popularity falling further in the wake of revelations that he fathered a child with his then-housekeeper.

The poll found that 75 percent of registered voters have an unfavorable opinion of the former governor, while 20 percent view him favorably.

It was just four years ago that Schwarzenegger was riding high with both parties across the state.

This most recent poll found that just 17 percent of women and 15 percent of Hispanics view him favorably.

He is particularly unpopular in his home county of Los Angeles, where just 10 percent of voters approve of him.

Schwarzenegger acknowledged last month that he fathered a now-13-year-old son with his former housekeeper.

The telephone survey of 472 registered voters was conducted June 3 through 13 and has a margin of sampling error of 4.6 percentage points.
