YouTube Plans Studio in New York

YouTube announced it will be opening a production studio in New York in 2014, adding to the video content company's studios in Los Angeles, London and Tokyo.

The studio will be for its content providers or creators to use its new equipment and tech training for little or no cost, according to The Wrap. YouTube announced the plan at an online video convention in Anaheim, and executives announced that the online video service has 325 channels with more than 1 million subscribers.

Previously, we wrote about YouTube's 41,000-square-foot studio in the Playa Vista neighborhood of west Los Angeles, which houses many online productions. The studio, dubbed YouTube Space LA, is for creators to film, edit and learn about the business. The studio is part of the $150 million Google, YouTube's parent company, is using to grow and develop YouTube content.

Revenue is rising for YouTube, with a possible annual revenue of $20 billion by 2020. That makes online creators pretty important and gives a clear reason why YouTube should be growing and helping its talent with studios and classes.
