Wife's Fake FB Profile Uncovers Murder Plot

New technology usually leads to misuse or abuse by humans. Being naughty doesn't separate us from the animals, but we've nearly perfected it.

Plotting to kill your spouse via Facebook is definitely near the top of the list, though.

A wife, going through a reportedly bitter divorce, posed as an attractive teen on FB and learned that her soon-to-be-ex husband was plotting to kill her.

Angela Voelkert was trying to trick her husband by posting a fake profile who then friended her husband, David, according to the New York Post.

In short order, soon-to-be-criminally charged David revealed that he had planted a GPS device in Angela's car, so that he "could find and kill her."

Really, David? You shared that with what you thought was a teen? On Facebook?

The Post reported one of his notes to "Jessica Studebaker":

Once she is gone, I don't have to hide with my kids. I can do what I want and not have to worry about not seeing my family anymore. You should fine someone at your school. There should be some gang-bangers there that would put a cap in her ass for $10,000. I am done with her crap!

First, $10,000 is on the higher end of the buy-kill scale via "gang-bangers," given previous reports. Second, if you're seeking a contract through a teen on Facebook, and still can't bring yourself to use harsher language than "crap," perhaps your head's not in the evil game the way you think it is.

David was arrested Friday for illegally installing the GPS. Police continue to investigate other allegations.
