It's Dress Like Steve Jobs Day!

Today is Dress Like Steve Jobs Day and you can honor the founder and former chief executive of Apple by emulating his signature fashion statement.

If you don't know what that is, it involves: a black mock turtleneck, faded jeans and New Balance sneakers. Extra points for wire-rimmed, round glasses. The special day is meant to honor Jobs and his legacy by "encouraging everyone to wear jeans and a black t-shirt/mock turtleneck for one day on Friday, September 9th, 2011," according to iPhone Life. From its Facebook page:

Steve Jobs and Apple have affected nearly everyone's lives directly or indirectly. And even though I hadn't been born when Apple was founded, iPhone Life magazine (our publication) would not exist if it wasn't for Apple and Steve Jobs.

This is our humble, simple and fun way to show our respect and appreciation to a man who has contributed an enormous amount to the world. We know he will continue to innovate, create and inspire for years to come from his new role.

For more fashion ideas, readers can check out StevesOutfit.com which only pokes a little fun at Jobs' iconic wardrobe. Those who dress up are asked to send pictures of themselves to iPhoneLife and cable news channel HLN.

Although we think this day will be celebrated mostly by rabid Apple fans, it would be nice if Silicon Valley celebrated Halloween a little early, wouldn't it?
