Rocket Lawyer, an online legal-assistance site, raised $18.5 million in a new round of funding led by August Capital and included Google Ventures, the venture capital arm of Google.

The site offers users do-it-yourself wills and business contracts, as well as the ability to create customize legal documents for a fee. Each month users create 20,000 wills and 40,000 business contracts.

"We see a large market opportunity for legal solutions that are easily accessible and affordable to users," said Wesley Chan, partner at Google Ventures. "Rocket Lawyer's combination of an intuitive user-driven front-end with a strong technology-based platform uniquely positions the company to scale and deliver the type of 'wow' user experience that online customers love."

The personal plan costs either $20 per month or $120 per year and the professional plan costs either $40 per month or $300 per year, according to VatorNews.

It's not surprising that Rocket Lawyer got some venture capital love, especially after rival LegalZoom raised $66 million only two weeks ago. Venture capitalists pay attention to trends and apparently legal advice is now a sexy-looking startup.
