Back to campus.
Facebook is searching for office space in Cambridge, Mass., where other tech companies have offices in close proximity to MIT, according to the Boston Business Journal.
The $66 billion Menlo Park company already has four employees in temporary office space in nearby Boston's business district, but is looking to add up to 7,000 square feet of office space to its portfolio, the newspaper reported.
Sources told the newspaper the move would allow Facebook to be physically near Microsoft, Google, and Nokia.
This would be a return after an absence of seven years. Back when Facebook was merely a social network and not THE social network, the fledgling company had sales staff at 280 Summer Street in South Boston, the business journal reported.
