Donate to Red Cross on iTunes

Apple offers users a way to donate to the Red Cross on iTunes to help those affected by superstorm Sandy.

Want to help out those living without homes or power because of Superstorm Sandy? Apple has made it easier to donate by letting its customers use its iTunes site.

Now when users go to iTunes, they will find an American Red Cross donation button where they can donate $5 to $200 in one click. According to the website: "Your gift to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief will support disaster relief efforts to help those affected by disasters such as Superstorm Sandy. Your support will enable the Red Cross to provide shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance to victims of all disasters."

Apple previously used iTunes to donate to the Red Cross during the 2011 Japanese tsunami and Haitian earthquake in 2010.

NBC aired a benefit concert Friday night. From "Livin' on a Prayer" to "The Living Proof," every song became a message to the victims.

New Jersey's Jon Bon Jovi gave extra meaning to "Who Says You Can't Go Home." Billy Joel worked in a reference to Staten Island, the decimated New York City borough. The hourlong event, hosted by Matt Lauer, was heavy on stars and lyrics identified with New Jersey and the New York metropolitan area, which took the brunt of this week's deadly storm.

The telethon was a mix of music, storm footage and calls for donations from Jon Stewart, Tina Fey, Whoopi Goldberg and others.
