Apple Wins EU Ban of Samsung Tablet

The ongoing battle over the Apple-dominated tablet market has left Samsung battered, with multiple, multinational lawsuits against it alleging the Galaxy tablet violates iPad design patents.

Today one such suit has led to a European Union-wide ban of the Galaxy Tab 7.7. Samsung's Galaxy 10.1N is allowed to be sold, however.

The 7.7 was already banned in Germany via prior court orders, but the appelate court ruling Tuesday morning broadens the ban to span the continent.

Samsung vowed to continue fighting Apple over the design and to protect "our intellectual property."

Despite efforts by both companies' CEOs to try to find common ground these suits will continue until they can reach some sort of compromise.
