Apple Can't Keep Up With iPad 2 Demands

As if Apple wasn't having enough trouble dealing with the storm of people demanding an iPad 2, the company now has to deal with shortages stemming from the Japanese tsunami.

Digitimes reports that labor and material shortages at Foxconn's Chinese plant, where the iPad is made, has been exasperated by a shortage of both memory and power amplifiers for the tablet computer.

The combination of the power shortage is expected to put a dent in Apple's second quarter shipment goals for the iPad 2.

Apple is believed to have ordered between 2.5 million and 3 million iPads.
