Google to Launch Industry-Backed Music Service: Report

Google will reportedly launch an industry-backed music service Wednesday at an event in Los Angeles.

Wednesday Google is expected to pull a Microsoft and move into Apple's neighborhood.

The only difference here, is Google's address will be a virtual one. The Mountain View-based search engine is widely expected to announce the launch of its own music store at an event Wednesday.

A day ahead of the presser, with musical acts Busta Rhymes and Drake, Google reportedly will launch a new music service with the backing of the music industry.

Google Music reportedly already has Universal and EMI on board with its launch but Google of course is not confirming anything.

But Wednesday, the company will reveal all and iTunes may have a major challenger.
