“Your Highness” Trailer Delivers Medieval Stoner Hijinks

The trailer for "Your Highness" is here at long last, and it's exactly what you'd expect from the likes of Danny McBride, James Franco and director David Gordon Green.

McBride is a layabout ne'er-do-well prince who gets dragged along by his more courtly brother, Franco, to save his virgin bride, Zooey Deschanel, from the evil wizard Leezar. Joining them on their journey is Isabel, a beautiful archer played by Natalie Portman.

The film appears to be as raunchy, blue and drug-hazed as Deschanel recently promised, with all manner of swearing, innuendo and hookah smoking throughout. Seriously, before you watch the trailer, know that it's loaded with swearing, so if you're at the office, you're gonna want headphones.

Not surprisingly, the feel is very similar to McBride, Franco and Green's first film together, "Pineapple Express," which some consider a minor masterpiece. "Pineapple" didn't quite work for us, the beats and the tone were just a bit off, and "Highness" looks like it may have similar issues.

But the stuffy British accents do lend the idiocy a bit more gravitas, making the whole a little funnier that it should be.

"Your Highness" will be lighting up screens April 8, 2011.
