Thursday Watch List: Runway Makes Penance

Welcome to Watch List, where we identify five things on TV to watch while you stay at home and work on your spray-on tan. LET’S GO!

PROJECT RUNWAY – 9:00PM (Lifetime) After Michael Kors and Nina Garcia hijacked the end of last season and crowned the horrible Gretchen Jones winner over the adorable Mondo, Lifetime wisely put this show on the shelf for a good long while until everyone simmered down. But now that show is back and I’m flashing back to Gretchen winning and YOU WILL ANSWER FOR THIS, KORS! Anyway, watch tonight as Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn try and make up for that tragedy with a whole new season of wackjob designers vying for a hundred grand. The first challenge involves the contestants making dresses out of their pajamas. What grown person wears pajamas? That’s just crazy. ANTICIPATION: PJ’S!

DEREK JETER 3K – 9:00PM (HBO) Because Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter doesn’t get enough adulation as is, tonight HBO offers you this hourlong puffpiece chronicling to quest to get 3,000 hits. Expect lots of people talking about how awesome Derek Jeter is. If he has ANY fault, it’s that he cares too much! ANTICIPATION: JETER!

LATE SHOW WITH DAVID LETTERMAN – 11:30PM (CBS) Louis CK, who is the greatest talk show guest in the universe, once told an interviewer that he thought David Letterman had blacklisted him from his show. But Letterman’s people denied the claim, and so here’s Louie on Dave tonight. But he’s the second guest behind… Kirstie Alley? Really? You guys are gonna make Louie pay his dues by waiting behind Kirstie Alley? That’s messed up. ANTICIPATION: POWER PLAY!

SERVING LIFE – 9:00PM (OWN) The latest new show from Oprah’s network features hospice volunteers at Louisiana’s infamous Angola prison, caring for dying inmates. Wow, prison AND death! Sounds like the feel-good show of the year! ANTICIPATION: SAD!

BLACK TIDE: VOICES FROM THE GULF – 9:00PM (Animal Planet) Animal Planet heads to the Gulf Coast to see how people and animals are recovering from the 2010 BP oil spill disaster. They fixed all that, right? I just assume it all came to pass. ANTICIPATION: OILY!
