Naomi Watts Set to Be in “Impossible” Peril Again

It's just been too long since movie-goers have seen Naomi Watts struggling against all odds on film like she did in 2005 blockbuster "King Kong" -- but that will change now that Summit Entertainment has picked up the rights to "The Impossible" and "Fair Game."

In "The Impossible," Watts is set to star with Ewan McGregor in a film about the 2004 tsunami that battered the coast of Thailand, according to Deadline Hollywood.

The project, directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, begins shooting Alicante, Spain, this August. Production will move to Thailand in October.

Clearly someone at Summit is a big fan of Watts' work. This is the second film featuring the actress that the studio has picked up recently. The first being "Fair Game" in which the always-watchable Watts stars as outed CIA undercover operative Valerie Plame opposite Sean Penn in a film that will debut at the Cannes Film Festival.

As far as immediate Watts-fixes, the actress stars as an emotionally-wounded lawyer in "Mother and Child," which opens this weekend.
