“Hereafter” Pulled from Japanese Theaters for Tsunami Scene

Clint Eastwood's most recent film, "Hereafter," with its all-too-real scene of a tsunami wiping out a seaside resort town has been pulled the film from theaters in Japan.

The movie, which opens with Cecile De France's being swallowed by a massive wave, was “not appropriate,” Satoru Otani, an official at Warner Entertainment Japan Inc., told The Associated Press.

The film follows a man who can speak with the dead, played by Matt Damon, a woman who comes back from the beyond, De France, and a young boy, Frankie and George McLaren, whose twin brother is killed in a car accident.

Released in Japan just last month, "Hereafter" was scheduled to be shown until late March.
