Eastwood Wooing DiCaprio to Star With Beyonce in “A Star Is Born”

Are you ready for a fourth iteration of "As Star Is Born"?

Leonardo DiCaprio and Clint Eastwood have been working together on a J Edgar Hoover biopic, and when their not busy actually shooting, the director has been bugging his lead actor about the possibility of starring opposite Beyonce in a remake of "A Star Is Born," reported Deadline.

We're befuddled, frankly. Beyonce's film career has been hit-or-miss, though admittedly better than DiCarpio's singing career, and why Eastwood would want tackle this project is anyone's guess.

The first "Star" came out in in 1937, and featured Janet Gaynor and Fredric March; next came the Judy Garland-James Mason version in 1954 and finally the Barbara Streisand-Kris Kristofferson take in 1976--why we'd do this again is anyone's guess.

At the very least, the good news is that Eastwood's courting of DiCario suggests that "J. Edgar" is going well. We'll know for sure when the film arrives Dec. 14.
