Captain Phil Harris Gone But Not Out of “Deadliest Catch”

The death of Captain Phil Harris has struck a surprising chord with even casual fans of the "Deadliest Catch" who are flocking to the Discovery Channel website to leave condolences.

But thanks to the wonders of television, this is not the last we'll see of the popular sea captain. He will be featured prominently in the next season of "Catch" which will air in April. The first eight episodes will highlight the perils of king crab fishing in October through December and will feature much of Harris's final months at sea.

Harris succumbed to complications of a stroke suffered last month off-loading cargo in an Alaskan port.

Editors were only starting to go through the footage when Harris took a turn for the worse and died from his Jan. 29 stroke. So it's not clear exactly where he'll play into the new season. "But it will be handled sensitivity," one source tells us.
