Director Peter Berg's big-screen adaptation of the beloved board game "Battleship" has added a new crew member, supermodel Brooklyn Decker, who joins a cast that is, well, eclectic.
Decker will star alongside Alexander Skarsgård ("True Blood"), Taylor Kitsch (Riggins of "Friday Night Lights" fame), pop star Rihanna, Tom Arnold, Hamish Linklater ("The New Adventures of Old Christine") and rapper/actor Lill Mirkk.
We like a lot of the people involved in this project, but making a movie out of a board game seems odd enough. And then mix in this cast of musicians, has-beens and not-quite-yets, and throw a budget of $200 million and you've got a recipe for disaster.
And purists might protest that Berg's vision isn't being true to Milton Bradly board game because there's an alien invasion element to the plot, but that's seems like a minor quibble.
