Aguilera's “Burlesque” Trailer Evokes Haunting Memories of “Showgirls”

YET ANOTHER UPDATE: The "Burlesque" trailer was taken down, but Vulture's still got a version which we've embedded.

This is gonna be the best Thanksgiving ever!

The first trailer for Christina Aguilera's "Burlesque" has arrived and, man, it is something. Tired, hackneyed, overwrought...

It is, of course, the story of a small town girl lured by the bright lights of Los Angeles who finds herself slinging drinks at a burlesque club, where she realizes that she was born to dance and sing in her underwear for the amusement of undersexed men.

Naturally, the gatekeepers of the club's glorious stage -- played by Cher and Stanley Tucci (who'd better be harvesting cash for something really special) -- can't get their heads around the idea that the tall sexy blonde with the great body could ever possibly be a burlesque performer. So she has to make her own opportunity.

Rounding out the cast are Eric "McDreamy" Dane, Alan Cumming, Peter Gallagher and "Dancing With the Stars" star Julianne Hough.

And then there's Kristen Bell, so good on "Veronica Mars," who appears to be continuing her dogged pursuit of her generation's most disappointing transition from TV to film. Since starring in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" her film career has been on a steady descent. It would seem she's hit bottom.

The curtain goes up on "Burlesque" Nov. 24.
