Tips Of The Trade: Creating A Stenciled Floor Cloth

Russel Peterson from non-profit design studio Alpha Workshops shows us how to create a stenciled floor cloth, which you can display on the floor or hang as a wall covering. By creating your own motif like Russel's, which was inspired by Alpha Workshops' recent mural for the Humane Society of New York, you can add a personalized element to your home. Russel recommends using Benjamin Moore's enviromentally friendly Natura paint since it has minimal odor and doesn't contain any VOCs.

Designed by Seattle architects Bebb and Gold, this four bedroom, five bathroom single-family home has been carefully restored to its original 1910 state. Situated in Seattle's Capital Hill neighborhood, this exquistely-finished home features guest quarters on the third floor, along with a separate carriage house set on nearly an acre's worth of property. A long, curving driveway and custom landscaping lends a sense of formal regency to the home, as does the darkly paneled study and high ceilings in the formal dining and living rooms. A truly distinguished home. View property.
