Seven local celebrities are sharing their message of giving back according to this month's issue of San Diego Magazine.

The article talks with pro athletes, an actress and a rock star. All of them relay the same message - the spirit of giving doesn't end with the holiday season.

La Jolla native Danica McKeller (you'll see her in the upcoming indie film "21 And A Wake-Up") works to remind girls "It's sexy to be smart."

Padres star Adrian Gonzalez works on empowering underprivileged kids. San Diego Chargers kicker Nate Kaeding uses his name, and his leg, to raise money to provide sick children with a safe haven.

And Jon Foreman, lead singer of Switchfoot, works with a different charity every year but one that always helps his community of Encinitas.

You can read all of their stories and hear from more local celebrities in this month's cover story "The Munificent Seven" online.
