It’s a chef showdown that will result in good food for a great cause.
The 5th annual chef showdown in Point Loma on October 22nd will be in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Some of San Diego's most popular restaurants will participate, including Chef Bernard Guillas with the Marine Room.
“It’s almost like "Iron Chef", so they have some ingredients that they do not know about,” he said.
Proceeds from the event will go to the Center for Community Solutions. The spokesperson for the center, Verna Griffin-Tabor, said the funds will directly impact the lives of victims of domestic violence.
“The money is going to help those who have experienced domestic violence and rape, to help them heal, provide counseling and legal services.”
The showdown will be from 6 - 9 p.m. at NTC Promenade. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased online.
