Over 30 breweries operate throughout San Diego, so it’s safe to say the average San Diegan likes their beer (we’re talking about real beer, not your watery, Super Bowl-promoting variety).

We asked which of the following is your favorite brewery: Stone Brewing Company or Karl Strauss Brewing Company.

Karl Strauss Brewing Company
As local as it gets! Karl Strauss has kept quality brews flowing throughout Southern California since 1989. Based in Pacific Beach, they put out over 30 specialty brews a year. Check out one of their four award-winning San Diego brewery restaurants. With a focus on pairing beers with savory foods, you can sit back and relax knowing you’ve got a good thing going on. Whether you choose a Red Trolley Ale, or their newer smash hit Tower 10 IPA, you can’t go wrong with Karl.

Stone Brewing Company
Founded in 1996, Stone Brewing Co. has been a San Diego mainstay for 13 years. Located in Escondido, Stone specializes in bold-flavored beers, and is best known for their aggressive Arrogant Bastard Ale. Stone¹s beers can be enjoyed at the beautiful Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens alongside an eclectic menu of local, organic cuisine. Visit for a fresh meal and brewery tour, or sip on a delicious craft beer in Stone¹s one-acre sustainable garden. Either way, you¹ll be impressed.

See who was selected as your Golden Local favorite.
