Cougar Alert at the Del Mar Races

This Wednesday, August 5, the Del Mar Racetrack will start off the Cougar II Handicap, by celebrating cougars everywhere. In honor of these "mature ladies on the prowl," Del Mar will crown the first "Miss Cougar Del Mar".
"Del Mar won’t hide that the seaside track is known for attracting cougars of all kinds," the club said on their website. These fabulous ladies have become a staple of Del Mar's charm so this year, Del Mar is honoring them in a special way, according to the website, the Del Mar Scene.
Cougars can submit their photos and short descriptions to misscougar@dmtc.com. The winner will be invited to present the trophy for the Cougar II Handicap and will also receive a table for four at the races and tickets to the Airborne Toxic Event concert on Friday.
The Cougar II Handicap is named after the famed horse, Cougar II. It's also one of Del Mar's stakes races and the longest in distance of the entire meet.
