Rule number one: Neither the bride nor groom should lift a finger on their wedding day.

That's Melissa Barrad's wedding planning philosophy.  Barrad, a La Jolla resident will be featured in episodes of "The Wedding Planner" on WeTV beginning Dec 7. She says the reality show approached her about being featured on the show after first learning about her via her online wedding blogs.

Barrad who owns "I Do....Weddings!"  describes her style as "out of the box."  She says she likes to find unique locations like private homes, theaters, museums, resorts, even a petting zoo.  "I haven't been stumped yet"  Barrad says.  The bride or groom should be worry free but so should the parents and wedding party according to Barrad. "Think of me as a concierge. I'm here to help with every detail. " One of the challenges Barrad faces in the reality series is creating an ideal wedding reception in less than an hour.

"The Wedding Planner" is a multi-part series that highlights 4 different wedding planners from around the country.  San Diego's historic El Cortez will be showcased in one of the episodes.

WeTV is dedicated to creating programs that foster and celebrate women's strength, confidence and diversity, according to its web site. Programming includes Bridezillas, High School Confidential, The Locator
