Birthday "Celeb"ration: Local High School Turns 100

The Bishop's School in La Jolla celebrated a major milestone this past weekend -- its 100th birthday! Along with the other thousand people in attendance, actors Ben Stein and CNN's Larry King also attended the party.
The school also said goodbye to its Headmaster Michael Teitelman, who is retiring after 26 years as head of the school. He said he is "very proud of the scholars that are here and their interest in being the best students they can be."
Larry King was also very proud of the school's history. "I like education and a school that's 100 years old is impressive," he said.
Bishop's, a college preparatory school, started out as an all-girls boarding school with 24 students. It now is co-ed with almost 800 students. The school has helped students in grades 7 through 12 since 1909 and will welcome a new sixth-grade class this fall.
The school has been celebrating all year long with special events, but this Saturday was titled the "Celebration of the Century."
Ben Stein had advice for students, referencing his 1986 hit movie 'Ferris Beuller's Day Off', "Ferris said better slow down life goes by pretty quick if you don't slow down you might miss it."
